I started my journey as a dog groomer in 2017 while living in Lawrence, Kansas. My approach to grooming is to individualize services for each and every dog, providing slow one-on-one intentional care. I love this way of grooming: ask questions, listen, get to know the dogs and the humans that come along with them. 

Unfortunately, this is not the norm in the industry. Groomers are overworked and underpaid - they’re burnt out. To make enough to live on such low pricing groomers have to pack in more dogs and it’s the dogs that suffer for this. I started referring to this type of salon as a “conveyer belt salon”.

So… I started The Persimmon Pooch. Personalized, calm, one-on-one care at your dog’s pace using the highest quality products. My goal is to offer a streamlined, no-pressure service that doesn’t leave you feeling like you need to spend more on unnecessary add-ons; all services are included, gratuity free. What you’re charged is what you pay.
